I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Poutine: Here’s a Poutine Recipe Worth Trying!

Canada’s known for many things: amazing landscapes, tasty maple syrup, devoted hockey fans, and pop icons like Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Justin Bieber. But there’s one more thing this great country is known for, something that’s been rooted in its history since the 1950s…a delicious delicacy made up of fries, gravy, and cheese that’s a staple in Canadian cuisine. That’s right, I’m talking about poutine!

A symbol of Quebec culture and pride, poutine reigns as one of the province’s most popular dishes to date. Although it’s a tourist favorite, poutine also has a less-than-healthy reputation. A typical fast-food restaurant serving of this dish will cost you a whopping 840 calories, 87 grams of carbs, and 43 grams of fat!

While that may sound like a nutritional nightmare, we did some digging and found a way you can have your poutine and eat it too (minus the guilt)!
